European Week of Sport (EWOS) aims to promote Sport & Physical activity in countries across Europe.

Regardless of age, background or fitness level, with a focus on grassroots initiatives, the aim is to inspire Europeans to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more.

We have a huge array of activities taking place across the city targeting specific groups such as older adults, children of all ages, teenage girls, women.

While most activities are already full with pre-prescribed groups who work with our team of Sports Officers on a regular basis, we do have some ‘open’ activities which are happy to welcome new participants, particularly our parkHIIT event on Thursday Sep 23rd (National Fitness Day) and our DCSWP ‘Magnificent 7’ Orienteering Series which runs throughout the 8 days of EWOS.

If these, or anything else, catches your eye please contact us on or via our Social Media Platforms and we will endeavour to provide you with additional information or deal with your specific query without delay.

Finally, not forgetting our fantastic competition – open to all sports clubs based within the Dublin City Council administrative area. The competition is inspired by the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo and there is a fantastic first prize of €2000 credit towards equipment & sportswear up for grabs. Please see elsewhere on this site for more details on how to get involved!
